Rice University Squash Club

This Saturday, October 8th, there will be a charity squash tournament downtown.  It will cost $25 and proceeds will go towards breast cancer research.  Anybody who want to is welcomed to play.  If you want to play in the tournament, contact Coco at jz2@rice.edu.  He can give more information about signups and members of the Squash club can carpool.

Elections will be held on Monday, September 26 12:00 pm, at the Martel college servery.

Elections are open for all members who wish to vote.

If you want to vote, but can’t make it, email Ariel (rel@rice.edu) to vote via email.

The first round of the box ladder is off to a good start with 17 players in 3 boxes.

If you would like to join the next round (early November) please email rel@rice.edu

For the time being, we will meet every Wednesday 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Friday 4:00 – 6:00 PM

• All scores will be deleted and rankings will be randomized on Friday, Sep 9 at 11:59 PM
• The new ladder will allow players to challenge others up to 10 positions above
• Inactive players (31 days of inactivity) will loose their position
  

• To signup, please follow the instructions on  http://squash.blogs.rice.edu/league/
• If you already signed-up on Friday, you still need to complete the signup process as described in the link above
• Signup deadline is Sunday, Sep 11  01:00 PM (since the league is set to start on Mon, Sep 12)
• Each box will have up to 6 player for a duration of 8 weeks. At the end of each period, the top two players will move up one box and the bottom two players will move down one box.

We have a new special deal for Rice squash players: for the month of February, anyone who signs up for lessons with Muhammad will get a special rate of $40 for individual lessons and $20 per person for group lessons.  See “Lessons” tab for more info.

Following the survey results, we will meet twice a week on
Wednesdays 6:00 – 8:00 PM and
Fridays 4:00 – 6:00 PM.

Please join us to play and practice, and of course keep challenging players on the ladder.
